BTM Works 360™ serves as an integrated workbench for the management information, analytics and performance metrics that enable collaborative decisions for business technology management. Executives, BTM knowledge workers and managers are presented a consolidated view of business and technology that ensures decision-makers are fully informed, leverage their collective experience, judgment and points of view, and help their organizations profit from better business technology decisions.

The workbench provides a series of management dashboards, scorecards, reports, and consolidated business and technology portfolio views that can inform decisions to prioritize initiatives, fund investments, manage risk, allocate resources, and monitor performance. It also integrates with Microsoft® Project and Portfolio Server, providing a real-time link to business technology projects and their status.

Changes in the risk or value of an initiative (and by proxy the whole portfolio) can quickly occur, for example, as the result of a new competitive positioning for the company or a shifting business landscape. Furthermore, once begun, companies have difficulty terminating ill-advised or failing initiatives. BTM Works 360 platform provides the traceability between individual project decisions and business goals, providing the visibility needed to continuously optimize portfolios.

Models can also be associated with project, application, resource, and asset portfolios in the management dashboard to enable managers to analyze whether an initiative slated for cancellation shares resources with other projects, or has some other interdependency. The ability to identify shared resources also promotes consolidation and reuse across the enterprise.

The analytical dashboards packaged with BTM Works 360 enable in-depth performance analysis of business technology decisions. Key Performance indicators (KPIs) visually report the current state – and compare that current state to specified goals. The displayed comparison usually indicate good, fair, or relatively poor performance, based upon pre-defined metrics following BTM Framework processes. Decision-makers and their support staffs can then investigate performance by reviewing and interacting with embedded reports associated with the current-state KPIs.

BTM Works 360 scorecards present an organization’s strategic goals and visually display progress against these goals. The average or median measurements of execution and progress are based over longer time periods such as weeks, months, or current or prior years. The goals represented in scorecards are based on the organization’s strategic planning efforts and measured against internal or industry standards and benchmarks. Scorecards inform decision-makers about the overall strategic goals of the organization and identify which aspects are performing according to plan and which areas need additional focus.
