Workshops and Seminars

Our Workshops and Seminars, led by renowned academics and industry leaders in the area of business technology management, define the key management capabilities, the role they play, and how to create them for a functional area. These areas include Governance & Organization, Strategy & Planning, Managing Technology Investments and Strategic Enterprise Architecture.

Today, most global companies say that integrating business and technology is critical in their efforts to:

  • Sense and respond with Agile Enterprises

  • Drive Business Models with Consistent Execution

  • Go beyond borders by creating Extended Enterprises

  • Enhance decision-making through Governance and Organizational Design

  • Reduce complexity through Redundancy Reduction

  • Manage risk strategically through Risk Mitigation

  • Deliver the strategy with a robust Strategic Enterprise Architecture

  • Maximize business value through Strategic Technology Investments

  • Achieve enduring performance with Sustained Innovation

Yet surveys reveal that most find these goals difficult to achieve. What is the answer?

Workshop and Seminar attendees Discover, Learn, and Collaborate to:

  • Understand key management capabilities

  • Apply critical management processes

  • Explore opportunities for improvement

  • Close the gap between vision and reality

  • Obtain a global view from cross-industry thought leaders

BTM Academy has refined seven years of research and development - in collaboration with leading executives and academics around the world -- into a series of workshops and seminars to provide decision-makers with the insights and management tools required to tackle these issues. Through its collaboration with leading companies, partners, the BTM Institute, and BTM Corporation, creator of the management science of Business Technology Management, these workshops and seminars are the only programs of their kind with a sole focus on converging the management of business and technology.

Thus the workshops and seminars reflect the work of leading academics from Michigan State, University of Oklahoma, Harvard, Emory University, MIT, and the London School of Economics; executives from Coca-Cola, General Motors, Shell Oil, Philip Morris, HBO, PepsiCo Inc., Eli Lilly, Bayer, IBM, Amtrak, United States GSA, Viacom, Xerox and Marriott; and former officials from the European Parliament, U.S. Senate, World Bank, and The United Nations.

BTM publications, such as The Alignment Effect (Financial Times/Prentice Hall, 2002), and Winning The 3-Legged Race (BTM Institute/Financial Times/Prentice Hall, 2005), are now internationally accepted resources for corporate and academic leaders on best practices in business technology convergence and management. Upon completion, participants receive a Business Technology Management (BTM) Certificate of Participation or Achievement.
